Set up a quiet area that is well supplied and and conducive to learning. Choose an area that is separate from the places your kid typically plays. Make sure there is enough space to store their learning materials.

Know when to give in. If your methods are not working or if you are not getting the results you were hoping for, don't push it further. Find an alternative method of teaching that particular subject. You could try a tutor, games or even tutors. Pushing them to learn in ways that is not easy for them will only frustrate the two of you.
